Local Kerry Beaches

Wave Crest enjoys a delightful coastal location on the Wild Atlantic Way so offers an incredible choice of stunning local Kerry beaches nearby. From the long golden sands at the blue flag beach at Derrynane to the pretty little beaches of Rath, White Strand and Silver Strand. From Wave Crest take a left to Caherdaniel Village (1 mile, 1.5km, a 20 minute walk). Take the left fork at the village crossroads. Continue down this road for 1.5km. Derrynane Blue Flag Beach is located adjacent to Derrynane National Park. The Beach is a sheltered extensive sandy beach with a natural harbour (notorious as a port of call from smugglers in the 18th century) and is a great spot for swimming and water sport activities. This beach has a lifeguard during the summer season. Three miles from Wave Crest just outside Castlecove Village you will find another secluded beach called White Strand.
